Prothonotary Warbler Grooming 4/8

This Prothonotary was grooming after bathing at the water feature at the Convention Center.

Prothonotary Warblers Up-close 4/8

Here they are again.  We were not complaining.  The Prothonotary Warblers would come within 2 feet of the birders but other species were down in the shadows unseen most of the time.  This Warbler doesn't make it to Freeborn County but along the Mississippi River.

Least Bittern Hunting on SPI 4/5

The challenge at the Birding Center is to find the Bitterns and Rails. We were lucky             to see both species. The Least Bittern was spied later in the afternoon hunting.

Green Herons at South Padre 4/5

Mostly grooming this morning were the Green Herons at the Birding Center.

Clapper Rail on a Foggy Morn SPI 4/5

It was quite foggy when we arrived at South Padre Birding Center.  Things were slow so we decided to take an early late.  But a Clapper Rail was unaware of us and we were lucky to see  an intimate grooming session.
