Estero Llando State Park 11/10

Estero was our go to birding center in the past 8 years.  It feels like home away from home when we visited there in November.  Brian and Jutta our friends from Austin, MN were there to welcome us.  There were a birds but not too many migratory birds.

Snowy Egret off the Boardwalk 11/6

I'm know for calling these beauties Showy Egret in stead of Snowy Egret. Bird descriptions are color, shape or size not for their activities. In breeding their plumage is gorgeous.

Osprey in Flight over SPI 11-6

Ospreys are the most prevalent avian predator on South Padre.  They perch on anything high and fish for a living.  Ospreys are lovey in flight.

SPI Birding Center: Tri-colored Heron 11-6

After seeing these birds for many years, I now enjoy them in a non-birding book pose.

Migration Continues at SPI 11/5

We soon found out why the migrants weren't out in the open.  Cooper's Hawk was discreetly hanging around. We didn't see him catch his prey.
