Little Blue Herons at Dowitcher and Grebe Ponds
March 3 was the first time we saw Little Blues at Estero this year. It was a cold, windy and rainy morning. My favorite photos of them are not what a vain Little Blue would choose but one with a sense of humor. The wind does a job on feathers too. They are slatey blue with a violent near and on head but the colors vary in the lighting.
The hunt begins . . .
This Little Blue was sitting with a more flattering background.
