LIFER GOLDEN-CROWN 2/3/19
Looking for a rare species is an exciting and frustrating endeavor. We birded Frontera Audubon 5 times searching for a glimpse of the Golden-crowned Warbler. It had been there since January but hard to find. A neighbor at the Alamo apartments said they so another at Valley Nature at the feeder. So the hunt was on for the Golden-crown. The worker at the desk said, if we couldn't find it in 2 hours, Mike would find it for us. YES, he did, but first we heard the ticking. His deal was hearing it also. He walked fast listening for it and found it within 20. Then we knew how to locate it and did for other birders the next time we came there. Finally we located it at Frontera but it landed almost to close for me to photo him.
