Santa Ana and the Specialties 2/1

Some of the best birds of Santa Ana are the Least Grebes, Altamira Orioles, and Ladder-backed Woodpeckers, Northern Beardless Tyranulate and Wrens. Here are a few.

Least Grebe, truly a SRGV specialty.

Black Phoebe are becoming more common in the Valley.
Marsh Wren, migratory wren that is seen through the US, breeding north.



















Altamira Oriole Is a SRGV specialty that is beautiful and it's a pleasure to see.


















Ladder-backed Woodpecker is also a Southwestern species.
