Black-belly Whistling Ducks are common in South Texas. They search for nesting sites which includes the backyard of our apartment. I love these goofy looking ducks. Looking closely I discovered the white spot on the end of their beak is light blue.

SPI Red-wing Blackbirds and Whistling Ducks 3/27
Red-wing Blackbirds are usually ignored but their beauty is striking as is their vocalizations.
