Scrub Jay, Canyon Towhee, Golden Cheek 4/19

These three birds are Lifers at South Llano State Park, Junction, TX this year or last year.

This Towhee is the Lifter this year.  His scratching at the seed cued birders it was a Towhee.

This is a better photo of Woodhouse's Scrub Jay than last year.

Below is the cropped photo from the one above.  He flew in and sang his distinct song.  I guess we'll have to come back next year for better photos.  We were pleased.
Photos prove that we saw the Golden Cheek but only ID, last year we only had a glimpse with a volunteer guide. This year our ears and patience were our guides.  We hiked in the hills and met other birders.  It is usually is between Blind 7 and 8 on Golden-cheeked Warbler Trail. It was beyond the dried rock filled gulch in the road.
