Estero Llano Grande State Park


Diamond-backed Water Snake Suspended over Alligator Lake

Fewer butterflies in the park,
but there are usually skippers   and sulfurs. Saw large white   high in a tree but no ID or photo.
No Northern Parula which is visiting the Tropical Area.

  2. Rick & May were leading a Tram Tour at Alligator Lake and had a scope on the snakes. We happened to be at the right place and time. We also were at Sana Ana and the Bird Walk guides had no one with them so they took us to the Great Horned Owl's nest. We saw her with her eyes half closed--very lovely. I also spotted an Aplomado Falcon on the way home from SPI. Thought of you.
